All Teelin Summer Camps are held at the studio in Columbia. Beginner Camps (for both Irish Dance and Clogging) are open to any dancers. All other camps are open only to Teelin students. If in doubt of which camp to attend, please ask.

Note: Dancers in the New Beginner camps need not purchase Irish dance shoes for this one week of camp. Dancers may participate in bare feet or ballet shoes.
IRISH DANCE CAMPS FOR NEW BEGINNERS
For students who are interested in beginning Irish Dance, this summer camp is a fun way to learn a lot of Irish dance in a short amount of time! Each group will dance for 1 1/2 hours daily. Families are invited to watch a brief skit demonstrating their dancers' new skills on the last day of camp - bring your cameras! Tuition: $125

IRISH DANCE CAMPS FOR TEELIN STUDENTS
Summer Camps help to eliminate any gaps in basic technique and will introduce dancers to new skills while having fun with Teelin friends. These camps will prepare students for some of the more complicated steps in their classes next year. Students in Teelin Summer Camps drill a LOT of Irish dance skills in a short period of time. Due to this intensity, students who participate in a summer camp are often able to advance more quickly. Prerequisites are required for each camp, based on class level during the 2011-12 school year at Teelin. If in doubt of which camp to attend, please ask. Tuition: $215
Irish Dance Beg II Camp - August 20-23 (4 days), 10:00am-1:00pm
for students who were in a 2011-12 Beginner class at Teelin
Irish Dance Advanced Beginner Camp - August 13-17, 10:00am-1:00pm
for students who were in a 2011-12 Beg II or Level 1 class at Teelin
Irish Dance Novice Camp - August 13-17, 11:00am-2:00pm
for students who are AB/N competitors with hard shoe experience, or for students who were in a 2011-12 Level 2 class
Irish Dance Nov / PW Camp - two options this year!
July 9-13, 10:00am-1:00pm / August 6-10, 10:00am-1:00pm
for N/PW competitors or advanced level students

AMERICAN CLOGGING WORKSHOPS
Lisa Calderwood is coming back for one week of Clogging classes!! (Lisa taught at Teelin for several years before moving out of state.) Don't miss this opportunity to learn a really fun dance form!
Clogging evolved in the Appalachian mountains, which was a melting pot of English, German, Scotch and Irish settlers. Each culture brought its own unique style of jigs and step dances, which merged into this uniquely American folk dance. Clogging is not Irish dancing, but it does have roots in Irish step dancing.
Dancers new to clogging may wear either their Irish hard shoes, or tap shoes, or hard sole shoes, or sneakers. For more information about recommended clogging shoes, see the bottom of the dance shoes webpage.

OIREACHTAS CAMPS
The 2012 Southern Region Oireachtas (Regional Irish Dance Championships) will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, Nov 30-Dec 2, 2012. Oireachtas Solos Camps are open to Champion level dancers, or by invitation. Dancers who would like to compete in solos are required to attend this camp AND as many summer champ classes as possible. Participation does not guarantee registration for the Oireachtas - that will be decided by Maureen and Molly in September.
The Oireachtas Figures Camp is for those dancers who have been invited to a 2012 team. Participation does not guarantee registration for the Oireachtas - that will be decided by Maureen and Molly in September.

NAIDC EXTRA PRACTICE
The 2012 North American Irish Danceing Championships (NAIDC) will be held in Chicago, IL, on July 2-7, 2012. Dancers eligible to compete in solos at this year's NAIDC are required to take this camp in addition to Oireachtas Solos Camp.

TEELIN IRISH DANCE COMPANY SUMMER CAMPS
(These camps are only open to members of the performance company - read more.) All dancers in the 2012-2013 Teelin Irish Dance Company are required to attend their troupe's Summer Camp. The camps will bring dancers up to speed on the performance pieces, and offer fun team building opportunities within each of the troupes. Company Tuition: $300 / Peanut Tuition: $215
